Plane of Japan Airlines in flames on runway at Haneda Airport, Tokyo
On 2nd Jan 2024 evening at Tokyo Haneda Airport, a plane landed on runway in flames. The plane was of Japan Airlines.
Japan Airlines Flight 516 departed from New Chitose Airport at 16:00 hrs local time and was scheduled to land Haneda Airport at 17:40 hrs.
NHK broadcaster showed that flames were coming out of windows and beneath of the aircraft and runway was also set on fire.
It is gathered from authorities that the aircraft had taken off Sapporo and collided with a coast guard plane.
Media footages confirm the presence of multiple fire trucks. The flames billow from the plane.
As per media report 379 passengers were on board. All of them have been evacuated. Japan Airlines is assessing the extent of damage.
