Mumbai Mall on Fire : 3500 Rescued from Adjacent Building
Mahatrashtra’s Mumbai Central Mall in Nagpada area on Thrusday night broke out massive fire. 3500 residents from 55 storied Orchid Tower an adjacent building, have been evacuated as precautionary measure.
The fire was initially categorized as level 1 category (minor) but upgraded to level 3 at 10:45 and to level 4 at 2:30 am after flames spread to other part of building, Mumbai fire brigade stated. It is presumed that the fire may have attained to level 5.
Fire personnel Mr. Shamrao Jalan Banjara and Ramesh Prabhakar Chugle sustained injuries during fire fighting operations and both were sent to a nearby hospital for their treatment and later discharged from there.
Around 24 fire engines and over 200 fire personnel are still pressed in action to control the blaze at Mumbai mall as the fire rages on even 12 hours after it broke out.
Mumbai's City Centre mall shows thick black smoke billowing out of the building as the fire personnel continue to struggle to bring the fire under control.
