17 dead in Pune Chemical Factory Fire

SVS Aqua Technologies in Pirangut MIDC area in Mulshi Tehsil, a chemical factory involving in supply of air, water & surface treatment chemical caught massive fire. At the time of incident 37 employees were present in the premises.
The fire first spotted at 5 pm. Six fire tenders from the fire department of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and two from Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) in total Eight fire tender rushed to the spot of incident and were able to douse the fire by 6:45 pm.
In rescue operation 20 employees were saved while 17 are considered to perish in this fierce fire incident.
Moved by this fire incident Prime Minister of India expressed his grief and tweeted "Pained by the loss of lives due to a fire at a factory in Pune, Maharashtra. Condolences to the bereaved families,"
Prime Minister's Office announced an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh for the next of kin of those who perished in the fire and Rs. 50,000 for injured from PM National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
